BANKERT, Andrew S., known by family and friends as "Uncle Andy," 94, of Richmond, was called home on Saturday, July 6, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna K. Bankert; and is survived by his son, James C. Bankert; and his children and grandchildren; and devoted friend, David W. Goodman. Mr. Bankert was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, and a life member of American Legion Post 186. He retired from RF&P Railroad after 38 years of service, and was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd. A graveside ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Maury Cemetery.
