GEORGE, Ashford Benjamin, 91, of Chesterfield County, Va., passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, February 16, 2013. Born June 5, 1921 in Crewe, Va., he was the son of the late Etta George Walker and Perry Dickerson George. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Erma Yeatts George. He is survived by three devoted sons, Barry and his wife, Cheryl, of Chesterfield, Andrew and his girlfriend, Bena, of Powhatan and Timothy and his wife, Elizabeth, of Summerfield, N.C.; also seven grandchildren, Stephen, Jason (Heather), Jeff (Stephanie), Bryan (Ashley), Evan, Gina and Sarah; and 10 great-grandchildren, Trent, Amanda, Matthew, Gwyneth, Abigail, Madison, Morgan, Lainey, Noah and Miles; and his caregiver, Mila. He was a decorated WWII U.S. Army veteran, who participated in the Allied Invasion "D-Day" of June 1944. He was known by all that made his acquaintance as a man of honor, that loved his family, his country and his Savior. His family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where a funeral ceremony will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday. Interment Dale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kingsland Baptist Church.
