ARMSTRONG, Charles J. "Charlie," 93, joined his wife, Mary Ellen Hill Armstrong, in eternal life on June 24, 2013. Charlie was born in Waterville, Maine, and served with the 58th NCB "Seabees" in the South Pacific during WWII. He settled in Richmond and founded Charlie's Lock Shop in 1965, which he operated until recently. He is survived by his children, Mike Armstrong (Heldi), Mitzi Williams (John Peace) and Tom Armstrong (Joan); devoted daughter and caregiver, Pat Armstrong Curti (Greg); granddaughters, MK and Cindy Armstrong. The family will receive friends at Deep Run Park Recreation Center, 9910 Ridgefield Pkwy., Henrico, Va. 23233, on Wednesday, July 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., casual attire.
