BOCK, Herbert, 89, of Richmond, son of the late Sarah and Adolf Bock, passed away peacefully at Henrico Doctors' Hospital on December 24, 2012. As a young man, while courting his wife, Herb was known as "Superman." He faithfully served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II, then settled in Richmond, Va., with his wife, where they raised their five children. Herb retired from teaching at the Richmond Technical Center with over 20 years of service. He had a passion for healthy living and eating well. For 60 years, Herb was married to Bernice Bock, who passed away in 2008. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Lou and Rose Marie; and their daughter, Sara Bock; his son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Vickie Bock; his daughter, Debra Gail Janson; his daughter and son-in-law, Jodi Bock and Dan Iott; his daughter, Saundra (Onja) Bock; his son and daughter-in-law, David and Heather Bock; four grandchildren, Victoria, Kimberly, Brock and Vanessa; and his great-grandson, Xander. The family wishes to thank the staff at the MCICU Dept. at Henrico Doctors' Hospital, who so tenderly cared for him during his final hours. The family extends their love and appreciation to the staff at Gayton Terrace for providing a warm and happy living environment over the last several months. Herb will be best remembered for his sense of humor and his commitment to his family. He was a great man and was deeply loved. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Bliley's -Central, 3801 Augusta Avenue, Richmond, Va. 23230, where a service will begin at 3 p.m. Officiating will be Rev.
