Joseph Adams Obituary

Joseph John Adams Joseph John Adams of Culpeper, Virginia, 93, was called home by his Lord on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, with family by his side. He passed away peacefully after a brief illness. Joseph was born in Paterson, New Jersey, to William and Rose Adams who immigrated from Lithuania. He had one sister, Elenor. Joe earned a B.S. from Newark College of Engineering and his Masters from Fordham University. Joe was a commissioned officer in the United States Navy and proudly served his country in World War II. He married Julia Augustis in 1945, and raised four children while working for The DuPont Company in Wilmington, Delaware, for 30 years. Joseph's primary focus in life was his Catholic faith, family, friends and community service. In 2005, Joseph and Julia retired to the lovely community of Culpeper, Virginia, to be closer to family. Joe was an inspiration to all and his sense of humor never wavered. He leaves behind his four children, John J. Adams, Janet E. Kovach and Lou, Jill A. Devine, and June M. Brick and Jon; six grand-children; nine great grand-children, two born just this year who bare his name sake; and one great-great-grandchild. A celebration of his life will be held at Precious Blood Catholic Church, Culpeper, 11 a.m. Friday, September 20, 2013. The Holy Rosary will be said at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of the Rapidan. Online guest book and obituary are available at www.johnsoncares.com.
