WILLIAM DICKINSON Obituary


DICKINSON, William F., 93, of Richmond, husband of the late Fern Travers Dickinson and Billy Lou Molnar Dickinson, died Sunday, March 24, 2013. He was preceded in death by a son, William F. Dickinson Jr.; and is survived by three sons, David F. Dickinson (Kathy), Charles R. Dickinson and Richard D. Dickinson (Allyson); six grandchildren, William Ludwig, Daniel Mulligan, Charles Dickinson Jr., William Dickinson, Kathryn Dickinson and Lauren Dickinson; and his sister, Anne Carlson. Willie graduated from John Marshall High School in 1937, where he was captain of the Cadet Corp. He attended Virginia Tech and the University of Richmond. He was employed by RF & P Railroad from which he resigned to enter the U.S. Army where he served during WWII as a First Lieutenant. After his service, he was a 60-year partner at Colony House Furniture, where he worked until his retirement. The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 28, at Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. A Graveside Service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 29, in Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 83, Mathews, Va., P.O. Box 561, Mathews, Va. 23109.
