Willie R. "Big Daddy" Branch Obituary


Willie R. Branch Willie R. "Big Daddy" Branch went to Heaven to be with the Lord on December 12, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Mildred Branch; and sister-in-law, Anne Gertrude Berry.

He is survived by his sister, Carrie Gilmer; brothers, Robert Earl Branch and his wife, Ann, James Branch and his wife, Barbara; his son, Norman W. Branch Sr. and his wife. Hazel Branch; grandchildren, Jimmy R. Branch and his wife, Kim, Cynthia Branch, Norman W. Branch Jr. and his wife, Marie Wood, Lisa Estes and her husband, Elzie Estes; numerous great- grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren.

He was born in Buckingham, Virginia, and raised his son and grandchildren in Belmont. He enlisted in the United States Army as a young man. He was in the infantry with an artillery unit during World War II. He was a proud World War II veteran. After his service in the United States Army he worked for the Monticello Dairy until his retirement.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2012, in the Teague Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Sidney Craig officiating. Interment with no formal procession will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2012, at the Teague Funeral Home.
