Meiyin Huang Chiu

Meiyin Huang Chiu Former New York resident, Meiyin Chiu, died January 19, 2009 at her home in Santa Clara, CA from complications due to breast cancer. A service will be held on Saturday, January 24 from 10 am to noon at Oak Hill Funeral Home, 300 Curtner Ave., in San Jose, CA. Viewing available at 9 am. Meiyin was born July 21, 1939 in Taipei, Taiwan to Keqin and Weizhu Huang. She was raised in Taipei and married David Chiu on January 27, 1965 in Tapei Taiwan. Meiyin moved to the United States with her family in 1971, raising three children and later working for Switching Power on Long Island for over 10 years. Upon retiring she and David moved to San Jose, CA to be near their children. She is survived by daughter, Sufen Chiu and Annette Fineberg of Davis, CA; son Timothy Chiu and Lars Haaland of Santa Clara, CA; daughter, Marie and Michael Demordaunt of San Leandro, CA. Grandchildren Amelia Fineberg, Daniel Fineberg, Michaela Demordaunt, Lauren Chiu, and Mariah Demordaunt. Brother, Tao and Cathy Huang of San Jose, CA. Sister, Jen Huang of Washington Twp, NJ and brother William and Tracy Huang of Selden, NY. She is also survived by siblings in Taiwan, and her husbands family, Lih-Ping Shao and her family.
