Taryn Hoover Obituary
A memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at the First United Methodist Church, Rev. Carol Woods officiating. Mineral Wells Masonic Lodge No. 611 will be honorary pallbearers.
Taryn was born Oct. 6, 1984, in Mineral Wells, the daughter of Donald F., II and Tamara Folmar Hoover. She lived in Mineral Wells all of her life and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her parents, Donnie and Tammy Hoover of Mineral Wells; brother and sister-in-law, Trey and Erin Hoover of Watauga, Texas; nephew, Joshua Hoover of Watauga; paternal grandmother, Bertha Hoover of Mineral Wells; maternal grandparents, Jim and Lynda Folmar of Lago Vista, Texas; uncles and aunts, Steve and Lesli Hoover of Palestine, Texas, Ken and Janet Koch of Benbrook, Texas, Tim and Tonya Gary of Mineral Wells and Mark and Terri Harkins of Lago Vista; and several cousins.

16 years since you left us. Much has changed and I am sure change is a part of life that we all like the least. What I know is that your parents are doing great, your nephew, Joshua is in his first year in college (Tarleton University) and he sees Taylor all the time! Your Taylor is doing great. She is on schedule to graduate with her Bachelor's degree from Tarleton in August. She is coaching club volleyball, and head lifeguard at the Tarleton swimming pool. All of this because you were an athlete and your father had her at the city gym/city pool from the time she was three weeks old. Lauren and Matthew are growing so much! Matthew is almost taller than his mom. Brandon now has three children and Amanda is doing great at her job (still in the Austin area). I know you already know all these things, but you have been on my mind a bunch lately. Nina is doing great at almost 85! I am still in Mary Kay (33 years) and Insurance for 10 years. Your Aunt Terri is still with the school and hubby, Mark, still working and loving it. Your mom retired, then went to work for a local title company. Your dad is working for the school where you graduated. He loves his job. Much love dear niece! Kisses and hugs!

Just a quick update in case any of the friends and family might land on this great site! Trey and Erin now have 3 children and their oldest, Joshua, graduates high school in a few months. My daughter, Taylor, who was born 10/5/2002, and almost on Taryn's birthday, is a junior at Tarleton University. Tammy has retired from her title company job and Donnie now works for the school district. My oldest sister, Terri and her husband Mark are both still working. Amanda graduated and received her college diploma. My mother now lives with me and my dad (Jim) passed away in 2019. So much has happened since Taryn left us but I know she is happy. Both of her paternal grandmothers (Shirley and Bertha) are with her as well as her paternal grandfather (Don). Say a prayer for the Hoover family as they manage another year without our sweet girl, my niece Taryn Michelle Hoover. Love Aunt Tonya

Almost daily I think of her. She loved my daughter so much. She started traditions with Taylor when Taylor was a baby. Coloring Easter Eggs, hiding them, then hunting them together. Halloween, Taryn shopped for Taylor's costume, bought it, picked Taylor up and took her trick or treating. I am sure if she were here today, they would have been inseparable, best friends for life. I do miss her and her many talents. She would have been 36 this past October 6..., the year of the Pandemic.

Today, sweet Taryn would have been 33 I believe. It has been 10 years. I believe Taylor is a blend between you and her dad. Super athletic and beautiful. She wears your letter jacket often, but this week will order hers. You were a Senior in High School when she was born and she will be a Sr next year at the same, Mineral Wells High School. Although her sport of choice is Volleyball and not Softball, she would have been good at that, too, and you would be proud. She misses you so much and has pics of you all over her room. We still miss you every day and know you are in such a perfect place. Love to you always, Aunt Tonya

I met Taryn probably 16 years ago in a music chat room on the internet. We became friends and talked almost daily. Unfortunately we lost contact a few years later. I don't know why, but she crossed my mind today. I thought to myself, a google search will probably get me in contact with her just to say hello and I hope she's doing great. Sadly, that google search has brought me here. She was a great person with a wonderful heart. I'm sure she's missed beyond words by everyone that's ever had the pleasure of knowing her.

It has almost been five years since Taryn's passing. As my daughter gets older, I am seeing how much they look alike and often act alike. Donnie tells me that Trey's youngest child acts like her as well. She had a beautiful smile and was very talented. We all miss you.

I am sorry I am so late placing this entry. I heard rumor that Taryn had passed away, but I didn't beleive it. I lived with Taryn briefly at Santa Fe Apartments back in 2004. I struggle to find the perfect words that will ease your pain right now. I find that there is only one -- God. But I do have some thoughts. Our hearts are saddened, as we have lost a friend, co-worker, a mother's daughter, a daddy's little girl,a brother's younger sister and a nephew's aunt. It's hard on all of us, but will be the hardest on Taryn's parents.
In Taryn's case, life was short, but life was good, life was happy, life was full of fun and excitement, hard work with nice payoffs. She had a close family and plenty of friends and love ones who cared the world for her.
Yes, Taryn will be missed by those of us who are left behind...we know she is where she was meant to be, in God's ever-loving arms, in heaven.
We will all need to be mindful of those hurting on earth, keep them in our thoughts and prayers for strength, courage, faith, hope and love and may the joy of Taryn's smile be ever on our hearts.

To my sister, brother in law-who is more like a brother to me than an in law, Trey, Erin and Joshua:
Words cannot express how I feel of the loss of our beautiful Taryn. She and I fought like sisters and today I know it is because she was such a determined young lady-full of ideas of what she wanted her life to be. the last conversation I had with her was at our Christmas gathering and I shared with her that I was so proud of her. Of all that she had done this year in growing up, being such a responsible adult and respecting her parents in love and gratitude. The time she had spent with Tammy these last 7 months have been priceless and it showed in her confidence level and her happiness. I have no doubts that she loved the Lord. She is in Heaven with Granny and Grandpa Hoover and they are all moved by the outpouring of love from family, friends, co-workers and the communty.
The family asked that should you so be moved to do this, that donations to the Humane Society in Taryn's honor would be appreciated and it was an organization near and dear to Taryn's heart.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Hoover family. Taryn has been a great friend through the years and I am blessed that she was a part of my life. I will always cherish the times we had together and I am thankful to have known and grown up with such an amazing person. I offer my condolences to Taryn's family, friends, and our MWHS 2003 classmates. Taryn will live on in our hearts forever.
