Services and burial will be under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls, OK.Mrs. Allen was born November 6, 1956 at Pasadena, CA, the daughter of Teddy Gene and Maureen (Shanks) Fisher and died Wednesday November 18, 2009 at Tahlequah, OK.Rita trained and rode horses and was in numerous horse shows in Oklahoma and surrounding states. She was a very accomplished horse rider, her favorite horses being Quarter Horses and Paso Finos.Rita graduated from Northeastern State University and was the Librarian at Northeastern State University before her retirement. She was a member of the Church of Christ and had served in the US Air Force.Rita was preceded in death by her father, Teddy Gene Fisher and a brother, Eddie Fisher.Survivors include her husband; Ernest Allen, mother, Maureen (Shanks) Fisher of Tahlequah, son, Ronnie Ray Locust of Tahlequah and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.

Viola Christine Berryhill passed into heaven early Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 23, 1923 in Richardville, OK, the daughter of Tayola and Rina (Richard) McIntosh.Viola worked at Griffin Grocery for over 39 years before her retirement. She was an avid bowler in her earlier years. As her health declined and she was no longer able to bowl, she looked forward to her Walmart outings with her family. Viola enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles with her grandkidsand great grandkids, as well as working crossword puzzles. She was a lifelong Elvis fan, having collected countless memorabilia over the years. Viola was a faithful member of the First Indian Baptist Church of Muskogee.Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Patricia C. Mr. Charles L. Brackett, 77 of Porter, Ok. passed away Nov. 18, 2009 in Muskogee, Ok. He was born May 3, 1932 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, the son of Ira Clark Brackett, Sr. and Nettie Iretta (Sparks) Brackett. He was married to Mary Maxine Rich on July 15, 1949 in Seminole, Texas. Mr. Brackett was a graduate of Wellman, Tx. High School and Carver Chiropractic College. He practiced as a chiropractor until he began his ministry with the Church of Christ in 1956. He served as Minister and Evangelist worldwide and was a member of the Church of Christ in Porter, Ok. Dorothy Brown, 88, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at her home in Muskogee. She was born September 22, 1921 to Ernest A. and Mary P. (Powell) Hetherington in Cushing, Oklahoma. Dorothy married Eldon Earl Brown on April 10, 1941 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death.She is survived by one daughter, Diana Lamascus of Muskogee; three sons, Dr. Ronald D. Tahlequah, OK – Funeral services for Loyd Robert Dickerson, age 92, will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church. Dr. Allen Schneider will preside. Interment will follow at the Tahlequah City Cemetery. Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of the Hart Funeral Home.Loyd Robert Dickerson was born in Ellersville, OK, on September 15, 1917, the fourth of four children born to Everett Dickerson and Lizzie Combs Dickerson. His grandfather, a Baptist minister, started both a church and school there. His father passed away when Loyd was fourteen months old. Loyd attended school until the depression forced him to become the breadwinner for the family. After working on the farm for a few years, Loyd joined the Civilian Conservation Corps. He served in the CCC for eighteen months, first in Pryor, OK and then in Chico, CA. After leaving the CCC in 1937, Loyd went to work for a petroleum company in California. While there, he was drafted into the U.S. Navy. World War II ended while he was still in boot camp, so he was released from military service and returned to his job with Signal Oil and Gas Co. He worked there for twenty-six years, driving and loading tank trucks and later serving as a transportation superintendent. He was married while in California, and had three children. In 1976 he moved to Tahlequah, OK, working at Masters Hardware until retirement.Loyd attended First United Methodist Church in Tahlequah. He enjoyed raising vegetables in his garden and making pastries, and liked to travel. He loved to spend time with his family, and many of his friends and family members spent his 90th birthday with him.Loyd departed this life on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at the age of 92. Preceding him in death were his parents; his sisters, Myrtle Dickerson, Lucy Carol, Jewel Adair and Cleo Hall; brother, Floyd Dickerson; a grandson, Bobby Dickerson, and special friends Wanda Morrison and Polly Morrison.Survivors include: two sons, Edward Dickerson and wife Joy of Sacramento, CA and Roger Dickerson and wife Roni of West Sacramento, CA; daughter, Susan Helen Stumpf and husband Daryle of Sacramento, CA; his stepson, David Morrison and wife Laura of Tahlequah; two brothers, Bill Collins and wife Mae Dean of Tahlequah, and Kenneth Collins of Turlock, CA; six grandchildren, Tommy Dickerson, Dwayne Dickerson, Jered Stumpf, Darren Stumpf, Brett Morrison and Diana Frazier; five great-grandchildren, Katie Stumpf, Cameron Stumpf, Lily Morrison, Eva Morrison and Alayna Frazier; as well as many other family members, friends and loved ones.The family prefers that those wishing to send an expression of sympathy make donations in Loyd's memory to: First United Methodist Church, 300 Delaware Street, Tahlequah, OK 74464.

Evelyn Colleen Moore was born April 26, 1928 in Muskogee, Ok to Albert Leon and Eva Evangeline (Floyd) Moore. She passed from this life in her home on November 18, 2009 at the age of 81.Colleen married Tom Gayland Duncan on August 30, 1945 in Okmulgee, Ok and celebrated 64 years of marriage.Mrs. Duncan was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church for 55 years. She graduated from Haskell High School in 1945 and received a Bachelors of Education degree in 1967 then went on to obtain her Masters degree. She taught at Liberty-Morris Elementary School and served as Principal before completing her teaching career at Okmulgee Elementary with a total of 22 years service. She was also an accomplished artist and loved to travel.Colleen is preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Louis and Bob and sister, Jeanne.She is survived by husband: Tom Gayland, of the home, daughters and sons-in-law: Linda and James Morgan, Carol and Larry Atwell, son and daughter-in-law: John and Vickie Duncan all of Liberty-Morris, 11 grandchildren: Tommy, Jeff, Carrie, Angie, Sharon, Jennifer, Tina, Debra, Ronnie, Craig, and Kenny, 18 great-grandchildren, sisters: Aileen Tidwell of Haskell, Mary Carter of Lubbock, TX, brother: Russell Moore of Pasadena, TX, a large number of nieces, nephews, and a great host of friends.Grandsons Tommy Atwell, Ronnie Duncan, Jeff Atwell, Craig Duncan, Kenny Duncan and Steven Arnold will serve as Casket Bearers.Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 21, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Dorothy Choate Marie Foster passed away Thursday afternoon, November 19, 2009, at the age of 84 years. She was born November 21, 1924, to Elbert and Blanche (Givens) Neel. Joe Charles Mooney, of Porum, Oklahoma, passed away in his home Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at the age of 75, surrounded by his family, after battling cancer.He was the third of four children born to William Bert and Bonnie Annabelle (Bryan) Mooney on June 8, 1934 in Younger Bend, near Porum, Oklahoma.He graduated from Porum High School in 1952 and joined the United States Navy in December of 1954. On leave in 1955 he married Evelyn Allene Wood of Keota on November 19th at Stigler, Oklahoma. This union remained for just 2 hours short of 54 years producing three sons, Chuck, Wayne, and Mike, and one daughter, Donna.In his naval career Joe was first stationed at COMOCEANSYSLANT at Norfolk, Virginia locating and tracking submarines during the cold war, he also was part of the Project Mercury Recovery Team during the Allen Shepard flight of May 5, 1961, the first American Astronaut in space. He then was stationed with the Hurricane Hunters of the Naval Air Station in San Juan, Puerto Rico until January 22, 1964, when he returned to his family in Porum.After a few years working for Muskogee County he began his career in July 1969 at the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, Division One until his retirement as centerline foreman. He spent his retirement in Porum with his wife, kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, to whom he was their most beloved "Papa Joe", along with his coffee drinking buddies and Highway Department workers who kept in contact with him throughout the years. He loved sitting on his porch and watching the sunrise, lighting up his house for Christmas, his birds, Bass Pro Shop, fishing, and taking care of his lawn.Joe is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of the home, three sons, Charles Don Mooney, David Wayne Mooney, and Michael Wayne Mooney of Porum, and one daughter, LaDonna Lynn and husband, Jeff Girty of Porum.He leaves six grandchildren, Caitlin Stinnett and Brenna Stinnett of Porum, Sarah (Mooney) and husband, Rusty Girty of Porum, Bradley Mooney of Stigler, Jeff Mooney of Stigler, Jennifer (Mooney) and husband, Jon Farrar of Warner and four great-grandchildren, Simon Girty of Porum, Elizabeth Mooney and Samuel Mooney of Porum, and Jack Farrar of Warner. Joe also leaves behind one sister, Alma Ruth Davis of Bentonville, Arkansas and numerous nephews and nieces, and many beloved friends and colleagues.Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Bonnie Mooney, and two sisters, Mary Helen Mooney, and Nina Marie (Mooney) Vinzant.Funeral services will be held 10 am Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Porum Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. David L. "Uncle Dave" Overby, 73, of Muskogee passed away Sunday, November 15, 2009. He was born in Muskogee March 31, 1936 to David L. and Gertrude (Bales) Overby.Dave graduated from Muskogee Central High School. He married his bride of fifty years, Rose Overheu, March 14, 1959. Following his service in the Navy, Dave worked as a missile tester at Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station in California.After his retirement, Uncle Dave enjoyed keeping busy making wooden toys and later unique bottle lamps and hummingbird feeders. You may have seen him and his wife at Fin and Feather during the Fall Festival. He was a member of Local FRA. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rose of the home; sons, David Overby of California and Dawn Jepson of Virginia; four grandchildren, Matthew, Danielle, and Tyler Jepson and Michael Overby, Jr.; sisters, Linda (Overby) Tinney and Robbie (Coffey) Bass, both of Garland TX; and cousin, Lavonne Totten of Bixby, OK. Ernest Eugene Webb, 88, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at his home in Muskogee. He was born October 5, 1921 to Ernest and Esther (Bailey) Webb in Birchtree, Missouri where he grew up and attended school. Ernest graduated from Birchtree High School in 1938. He continued his education at Missouri University from where he graduated in 1942.Ernest entered the U.S. Army in 1942, during World War II, and served in the European Theatre. On April 17, 1943, he married Betty Epperson in Mountain View, Missouri. In 1946, he was honorably discharged from the Army. Later, he retired as a Major from the Army Reserves. In 1951, Ernest came to Muskogee and worked at the Veteran's Administration as a Adjudication Officer. He retired in 1981.He had been a member of Boulevard Christian Church since moving to Muskogee in 1951. He was involved in setting up Fair Haven Senior Residences and Dogwood Creek Living Center.
