CHAMPAIGN – Eugene Hart, 56, of Champaign, passed away at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, in Champaign.

Memorial services will be at 12 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at Morgan Memorial Home, 1304 Regency Drive West, Savoy. Eldress Dr. Evelyn Underwood will officiate. Repass will immediately follow the service at Morning Star Free Will Baptist Church, 1402 W. Eads, Urbana.

Mr. Hart was born Sept. 4, 1952, in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of Johnnie Hart and Mary L. Middlebrooks.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Brooks of Urbana; his father, Johnnie Hart of Ohio; two daughters, Charlisa Hart of Champaign and Ayanna Hart of Texas; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four brothers; and three sisters.

Mr. Hart graduated from Urbana High School and worked in the construction business as a concrete finisher.

He was an avid fisherman and history buff.
