CHAMPAIGN – Venita L. Hubbard, 32, of Champaign passed on Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at Carle Foundation Hospital at 8:10 a.m.

She was born Aug. 3, 1976, in Urbana, the daughter of David C. Hines Jr. and Betty J. Hines. She married Dwayne M. Hubbard, Sr. on Nov. 13, 1999. He survives.

Celebration of Life services will be held Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008, at 1:30 p.m. at The Vineyard, 1500 N. Lincoln Ave., Urbana. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Champaign. Melker-Bluitt-Parker Mortuary, 704 North Fourth St., Champaign, is handling arrangements.

Venita was employed at Garden Hills Elementary School as a talented, compassionate, and caring third-grade teacher and was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Survivors include her parents; son, Dwayne Jr.; daughter, Destiny; four brothers, Vincient L. Hines, Urbana, Vandre L. Hines, Chicago, Terrell Gordon-Hines and Terron Gordon-Hines, Champaign; paternal grandmother, Marie Hines, Champaign; maternal grandmother, Maggie Young Aikens, Savoy; and several relatives and friends.
