CHAMPAIGN – Anne Marie Fjelde, 70, of Indianapolis, formerly of Champaign, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, at home. Ms. Fjelde was born Sept. 16, 1936, in Urbana, daughter of Olaf and Bertha Fjelde. She is survived by her children, Deborah Spalding and Robert Kuhne of Champaign and Erik Kuhne of Indianapolis; five grandchildren; and her brother, Rik Fjelde of Galena. She was preceded in death by her parents. Ms. Fjelde grew up in Urbana and was a 1953 graduate of University High School and Wesleyan Memorial School of Nursing in Chicago in 1957. She was a registered nurse and worked in Urbana and Indianapolis. During her lifetime, she volunteered for and served as an adviser of several local social service and health organizations. She attended Trinity Episcopal Church. A memorial service was held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 3243 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, on Thursday, Feb. 15. A burial service will be at Mount Hope Mausoleum, 611 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Champaign, Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to The National Association for Down Syndrome, P.O. 206, Wilmette, IL 60091. Shirley Brothers Mortuaries, 9606 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, is handling arrangements.
