URBANA – Allyson Page Niswonger joined her family on a beautiful autumn day in October 1985. Her family included mom and dad (Beth and Dan Niswonger) and twin sisters, Amy and Amanda. Allyson graduated from Central High School, where she loved to sing and was active in the chorus throughout her school years. Her beautiful smile was contagious and reflected how she cared about others. She lived this out by going on several missions trips with her church throughout her teen years. On Saturday, April 18, Allyson joined her big sister, Leslie, and great-grandparents in heaven. Allyson's extended family includes grandparents, Charles and Betty Puckett of Bowling Green, Ky., Mary Jane Niswonger of Blue Springs, Mo., and Stan Niswonger from Arizona. She will be missed dearly by all those who love her, including her four beautiful nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Allyson's greatest accomplishment and the love of her life is Lilly Elizabeth Claire Hahlen. Her pure act of selfless love ensured that Lilly would be raised by a family that would love and care for her as their own. The special bond between Allyson and the Chad and Trisha Hahlen established an unbreakable link between two families who both dearly loved this beautiful little baby girl. As a result, Lilly will always know and love her birth mom, Allyson. There will be a visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 20, at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St., Champaign, with the funeral service at 8 p.m. The Rev. Steve Brady will officiate. Interment will be private and at a later date. Condolences may be offered at www.owensfuneralhomes.com
