URBANA – Trent Silver age 20, left this world to be with his loving God, surrounded by family and friends, in his mother's arms on May 10, 2009, after a long battle with cancer.

Trent fought his battle with strength and courage beyond belief.

He was born on March 17, 1989, in Urbana, the son of Darryl and Susan Silver of Urbana. He is survived by his parents, his brother Kyle, his grandparents John and Beth Chato and Frank and Doris Silver, all of Urbana, his aunts and uncles, Alan Silver, Dan and Karina Silver, Chris Chato and Wayne Niemann, David and Cathy Chato, his cousins, Paul Chato and Jacob Silver; and many good friends.

Trent graduated from Urbana High School in 2007, and was a freshman at the University of Illinois, studying nuclear engineering. He was a member of Sigma Phi Delta Engineering fraternity and the Powerlifting Illini. He loved his job at Gamestop and his discount on games. He was a world champion powerlifter and a member of Urbana High School boys' tennis team. He played French horn and the mellophone in marching band. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Urbana and was active in the youth program, including mission trips.

Trent was an avid video gamer who loved being surrounded by friends. He loved Guitar Hero, Gears of War, Halo, zombie movies, heavy metal bands, concerts, his friends and his family. He lived his short life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Memorial contributions can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Urbana or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2009, at First Presbyterian Church of Urbana, the Rev. Phil Gittings and the Rev. Ruth Clendenon will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Renner-Wikoff Chapel and Crematory, Urbana.
