CHAMPAIGN – Murvin Clyde Beasley, 88, of Sesser died Sept. 20, 2007, at VA Medical Center, Marion. Mr. Beasley was born Sept. 20, 1919, in Champaign, a son of James Ernest and Dora Effie (Green) Beasley. He was married to Anna Beasley. She preceded him in death. Surviving children are Clyde Beasley, Germany, Wayne Beasley, Mahomet, William Beasley, Hillsboro, and Larry Beasley, Satellite Beach, Fla.; two stepchildren, Jerry Brown and Nancy Loeschen; and several grandchildren. Surviving brothers and sisters are James E. Beasley Jr., Jamestown, N.Y., Donald P. Beasley, Champaign, and Betty L. Drummond, Tuscaloosa, Ala. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lora Nelson and Virginia Beasley; and two brothers, John A. Beasley and Cornelias Beasley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Sesser. Mr. Beasley was a retired maintenance man at the University of Illinois. He served in the Army in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a life member of DAV and VFW in Champaign. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, at Maple Hill Cemetery, Sesser. Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home, Sesser, is handling arrangements.
