Amtrak Train Derailment Victims (2017)

There have been multiple fatalities reported after an Amtrak train derailed south of Tacoma, Washington, according to the Seattle Times.
Dupont Fire Chief Larry Creekmore told CNN that three people were killed and more than 100 people were taken to hospitals for injuries sustained from the derailment.
The Amtrak train was on an inaugural run leaving from Seattle to Portland at 6:00 AM. The derailment took place on a new bypass that was being used for the first time.
There were 78 passengers and five crew members on the train when it derailed, according to Amtrak.
"There have been multiple casualties as a result of the Amtrak derailment near Tacoma, Washington," Detective Ed Troyer, a spokesman for the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, said of the 7:40 a.m. incident. "The casualties include multiple injuries and fatalities."
Senator Patty Murray from Washington State tweeted, “Heartbroken by the news coming out of WA right now. As my staff works to get more info, my thoughts are w/ everyone affected, including the 1st responders doing their best to keep people safe. –PM."
