Kabul Intercontinental Hotel Attack Victims

At least 18 people were killed in the attack

Gunmen attacked the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul, Afghanistan, killing at least 18 people, according to multiple news sources.

Najib Danish, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, said 14 of those killed in the attack were foreign nationals.

The 12-hour standoff with security forces ended Sunday, Afghan authorities said.

The Taliban released a statement claiming responsibility, saying the attack was carried out by five assailants.
