Maggie Blye (1942 - 2016)

Starred in the original “The Italian Job” in 1969

Maggie Blye, the actress who starred in the original “The Italian Job,” has died at the age of 73, according to Variety. Blye had been battling cancer for the past two years.

She portrayed Michael Caine’s girlfriend in “The Italian Job” which was released in 1969. She also appeared in the Paul Newman film “Hombre” as well as in “Walking Tall: Final Chapter.” She was later seen in the movie “Little Darlings,” where she played the mother of Kristy McNichol.

She also made appearances in many television shows including “The Rockford Files,” “Hart to Hart,” and “In the Heat of the Night.”

She was born in Houston, Texas. She is survived by her sister, veteran casting director, Judy Blye Wilson; her brother, Richard Blye; and many nieces and nephews.
