Nick Lashaway (1988 - 2016)

Nick Lashaway, an actor whose TV and film credits include "The X-Files," "Girls," and "The 40-Year-Old Virgin," died May 8 in an automobile accident in Massachusetts. He was 28.

Lashaway, who was born March 24, 1988, also appeared in "The Last Song," alongside Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus. Lashaway also played Brandon O'Neil in "My Soul To Take," one of seven teens who are selected to die.

In a post on the social media website Instagram, actress and "Girls" creator Lena Dunham mourned Lashaway's death.

"Just heard the incredibly sad news that Nick Lashaway was killed in a car accident on May 8th," Dunham wrote. "Nick was such a talented, funny and kind person and we were so lucky to have him as a part of our Girls family when he played Frank in episode 207. We will always remember the week we shared with him, his playful smile, his easy instincts, how much he made us laugh even when we had to stay up all night in the woods. We are sending love to his family and friends and feeling such gratitude for his gifts. RIP sweet Nick."
