Final Post From Beloved Blogger

After Charlotte Kitley was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2012, she started a blog about her experiences. She called it Life as a Semi-Colon.

For two years the self-described "slummy mummy" chronicled her fight with cancer, through operations, radiation, chemotherapy, and myriad alternative and homeopathic remedies. Though her disease remained a constant threat, Kitley maintained her life as a wife and mother and invited her readers to come along through the ups and downs of her story. Her work was picked up by the Huffington Post UK, and her following grew.

On Sept. 16, 2014, according to a post on Twitter, Kitley's cancer fight ended. She was 36.

Following her death, a final post went up to her blog, "And so there must come an end," composed by Kitley after her doctor told her she had only days to live.

Writing from her couch at home, Kitley described the end of her life and what it meant for her loved ones. She talked about how she had so much more living to do, and she encouraged her readers to cherish what they have:

"So, in my absence, please, please, enjoy life.  Take it by both hands, grab it, shake it and believe in every second of it."
