When Tripp Roth was born on May 14, 2009, nobody could have guessed just how many hearts he would touch in his short life. Tripp lived for two years and eight months with Junctional Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a genetic disorder that left blisters all over the little boy's body and affected his health in many other ways.
Tripp's mother, Courtney Roth, left her job to become his full-time caretaker. While caring for him, she ensured the strength of Tripp's legacy by blogging about his life and condition. Her blog, "EB"ing a Mommy, gained a wide following and inspired thousands of regular readers.
Tripp died on Saturday, January 14, 2012. Courtney updated her readers late that evening and shared her memories of his life and death, noting that "He took his last peaceful breaths in my arms, in his most favorite spot." The post saddened her many readers and received more than 800 responses in just a day and a half. Tripp's Guest Book reached a new audience and touched more hearts, with condolences pouring in from friends and strangers alike. Many had heard about Tripp's love for his drum and remarked on that as they expressed their sympathy.
