Gabe Lyall: Hero Without a Mask

When 4-year-old superhero Gabe Lyall needed their help, the Heroes4Hire were there.

Gabe was hospitalized, fighting a rare liver cancer. The Heroes4Hire spent time with him, addressing him as a different superhero each time they visited. His mother explained that they made Gabe felt like a hero himself, rather than a sick child.

The visits lifted Gabe's spirits and also had impact on the people behind the masks. When Gabe died, the men who visited him in the hospital served as his pallbearers at his funeral. They dressed as superheroes but removed their masks as a sign of respect for fellow superhero Gabe.
