Teenager's Final Act of Heroism

Just before a high school dance Friday night, Mateus Moore and Mickayla Friend were taking a walk along train tracks near their school in Marysville, Calif., on their way to pick up some snacks. As they passed by a youth baseball field, players and fans looked on in horror as a train sped toward the young couple, caught unaware of its approach. With just a split second to act, Moore pushed Friend to safety, sparing her from the train's full impact. Sadly, Moore was killed, but his final, selfless act saved the life of his girlfriend, who is still hospitalized from her injuries.
