Nine years ago, life in America changed forever. In the wake of those tragic events, we created the National Book of Remembrance, where people all across the country could express general condolences for all the victims of the events of September 11, 2001.
Here’s what people were feeling in the immediate aftermath.
Along with countless others I watched the horror unfold on television on Tuesday. I can't begin to know the terror and uncertainty of the victims of this unprecidented tragedy. I only know that I have been changed forever. I have cried every day. My heart is heavy with sadness and yet it is filled with hope. I have witnessed such courage, patriotism, love and strength of character. I pray that the unity of spirit that has been so prevalent in these last few days continues throughout the long hard road ahead. The persons responsible for these atrocities has grossly underestimated the strength of will of the American people. Please know that in some way all of America shares your grief. Our thoughts and prayers are with you not just today, but forever.
My heart goes out to all of the victim's families from Tuesdays unforgetable and unforgiveable terrorists attack. Having lost my own mother this past week, I am grieving not only for her, but for all of the innocent victims, and their families. My prayers are with all of you. To the men and women who are helping with the recovery, I can only say, "God Bless You".
Dear God please help the victims and their families cope with this unspeakable tragedy. Also give our president the wisdom and courage to punish those responsible.

Dear Heavenly Father,
We are still in shock and sorrow over the tragedy of Tuesday. Father, give us strength for today. Help us to encourage one another and reach out to each other in Your love.
Father, give wisdom and counsel to our President & our leaders. Please bring Your comforting peace through the power of Your Holy Spirit to each person in our Government.
Father, comfort those in sorrow; heal those injured; give wisdom to doctors, nurses, and medical people treating the injured; be with those alive and remaining in the building collapse and surround them with Your presence, love and comfort until they are rescued; give strength, courage and endurance to the rescuers; and please protect us all from any farther attack from our enemies.
Father, You remain in control of our world. Please bring to justice those responsible for this terrorist act. May Your will be done now!
Father, thank you for each person who reads this prayer. Prayer is the best avenue we have because You always hear us and we know our answer is already forthcoming.
Father, we love You and thank You for this privilege to come before You today. In the name of our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus. AMEN
May God Bless America!
We send our prayers and condolences to all those families that have lost loved ones at WTC. We send our hope and prayers to those families who are still waiting for word of their loved ones. And also we commend all the hard work of all those that are trying so valiantly to rescue victims and recover evidence.

As I see the American flags flying through our town, in more places than even on the 4th of July, I cannot stop grieving over the many many lives lost needlessly and without warning, in the terrorist attacks. I pray every day for the victims, those left behind, and also the terrorists themselves. I believe only the Holy Spirit can restore peace to our world, and I pray for that fervently. Thank you to all the people helping in New York and Washington, and to those in the military who will serve our country in the wake of this attack. God bless us all and have mercy!
