A Roy Orbison Holiday

Published: 12/6/2011
We at The Obit Report think we've waited long enough to start listening to holiday music!

For our first holiday tune, we've turned to one of the all-time greats. Roy Orbison died 23 years ago today, just as his career was resurging – thanks to his stint with the Traveling Wilburys, as well as David Lynch using Orbison’s song "In Dreams" in Blue Velvet. We're casting a bit farther in the past, to 1963, when Orbison's career was just getting started. That's when he recorded this lovely holiday gem, written by Willie Nelson (who released his own version of the song in 1979).

Thanks, Roy Orbison, for helping us start the season off right!
