Marvin Edwards Obituary

Marvin William "Bill" Edwards, Jr., K4BWC, 70, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and his beloved wife, Gail L. Edwards on March 20, 2008. Bill was born in Sumter County, SC on February 11, 1938 to the late Marvin William Edwards, Sr. and Sarah Sparks Edwards. Mr. Edwards was a native of Sumter, SC. He attended Edmunds High School and Clemson University. He was a Amateur (Ham) Radio operator for more than 50 years. He worked for the U-Haul Company for more than 20 years. He was also President and CEO of Omega Electronics and has lived in Raleigh for 37 years.
Memorial service 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2008 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 with Reverend Hunter Preston officiating.
The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m.
Inurnment, Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 809 W. Gannon Avenue, Zebulon, NC 27597.
Survivors: sons, William Dwayne Edwards of Wake Forest, Marvin David Edwards and wife, Rita C. of Wake Forest, Eugene Darryl Edwards and wife, Linda M. of Wendell; grandchildren, Nicole Edwards, Justin Edwards, Michael Edwards, Samantha Edwards.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. James United Methodist Church, Annex Renovation Fund, 3808 New Hope Road, Raleigh, NC 27604.
