Bessie Strickland Obituary

Bessie Johnson Strickland, 81, formerly of Social Plains Road, Middlesex, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at WilMed Nursing Care Center.
Bessie was born April 11, 1927 in Johnston County. She married Charles Edward Strickland in 1943 and shared their life together until his death in 1995. Bessie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Funeral service 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2009 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service chapel, 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545 with Reverend Stan Edwards officiating. Burial, Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 809 West Gannon Avenue, Zebulon, NC 27597.
Surviving: daughters, Janice S. Driver of Spring Hope, Judy S. Carter and husband, M.C. of Middlesex, Jonnie S. Driver and husband, Carlton of Middlesex; grandchildren, Melia Edwards, Tammy Bissette, Melissa Barnes, Heather Driver; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Lynda Massey, Doris Price, Joyce Long.
The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home and other times at the home of Carlton and Jonnie Driver, 9024 Driver Road, Middlesex, NC 27557.
