Richard D. Boyer, 75, died November 14, 2007 in Gastonia, NC. Mr. Boyer was born October 25, 1932 in Elbert, WV, the son of Walter and Susie (David) Boyer. He lived in Niagara Falls for several years, prior to moving to North Carolina a year and a half ago.He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was employed for 30 years at Goodyear.He was the husband of the late Marlene (Trent) Boyer, who died in 1999 and father of the late James Boyer. He is survived by a son, Rick Boyer of Morristown, TN; two daughters, Darlene Seal of Bluefield, NC and Nicole Boyer of Gastonia, NC; a sister, Sandra Lane of Gary, WV; two brothers, Walter Boyer, Jr. of Gary, WV and Calvin Boyer of Dandridge, TN; five grandchildren, Sarah, Daniel, Andrew, Matthew and Jason and two great-granddaughters, Emily and Gracie and several nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 PM Sunday in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 AM. Rev. Ron Maines will officiate. Interment will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Town of Lewiston.
