Margaretta Bardello Obituary

BYRAM - Margaretta O. Bardello, 84, of Cranberry Lake, died Friday, July 18, 2008, at the Sussex County Homestead, Frankford.

Born in Jamaica, N.Y., Mrs. Bardello was a lifetime resident of Long Island before moving to Cranberry Lake five years ago. She worked for Avis Rent-A-Car in Westbury, N.Y., before her retirement.

The daughter of the late Samuel Johnson and Margaret Marshall, Mrs. Bardello was predeceased by her husband, Edward J. Bardello, on Nov. 28, 1963; a son, Edward J. Bardello, on April 8, 2002; a daughter, Marie Susan Bardello, on April 3, 1972; and a grandson, Brian L. Bardello, in 1981.

She is survived by two sons, Matthew M. Bardello and his wife, Sue, of Byram, and Michael Bardello and his wife, Elaine, of Short Hills; one daughter, Irene Hendry and her husband, Jim, of Hopkington, Mass.; her daughter-in-law, Janet Bardello of Andover Township; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton. Interment will follow at Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Sussex County Homestead, 129 Morris Turnpike, Newton, NJ 07860.
