The snow melts on the mountain
And the water runs down to the spring,
And the spring in a turbulent fountain,
With a song of youth to sing,
Runs down to the riotous river,
And the river flows to the sea,
And the water again
Goes back in rain
To the hills where it used to be.
And I wonder if life's deep mystery
Isn't much like the rain and the snow
Returning through all eternity
To the places it used to know.
For life was born on the lofty heights
And flows in a laughing stream,
To the river below
Whose onward flow
Ends in a peaceful dream.
And so at last,
When our life has passed
And the river has run its course,
It again goes back,
O'er the selfsame track,
To the mountain which was its source.
So why prize life
Or why fear death,
Or dread what is to be?
The river ran
Its allotted span
Till it reached the silent sea.
Then the water harked back
To the mountain-top
To begin its course once more.
So we shall run
The course begun
Till we reach the silent shore.
Then revisit earth
In a pure rebirth
From the heart of the virgin snow.
So don't ask why
We live or die,
Or whither, or when we go,
Or wonder about the mysteries
That only God may know.

I'll always remember Amy as she was at my Christmas party a couple years ago -- full of life and full of wit. I was amused to see how she would counter her father's teasing attacks with clever, witty comebacks of her own. Definitely a chip off the old block! The strength and fight that Amy showed over these past few years was nothing short of heroic. While her time here my have been far too short, the impact that she made on her family and friends in those 23 years will last lifetimes. My heartfelt sympathies go out to Carl, Pat, Doris, Karen, Matt and the rest of Amy's family and friends in their time of sorrow.

Hi Amy! I really wish I could have been there to give you a proper goodbye. I'll always remember the amazing times and tremendous fun we had. You were honestly one of the greatest people to walk this earth. You were always fun, and you always had a smile that could brighten the gloomiest day. You will always be missed.

I only knew Amy for a short time but when I was around her, she was funny to be around and had lots of laughs. I really loved her sense of humor. She was always upbeat even when she was more ill. Amy I will always remember you and your smiles. Thoughts and prayers go out to the parents and family. I will miss you deeply.

Dear Amy- you were a beautiful young person. I enjoyed watching you play soccer with my nieces when you were young and your brother Matt played soccer with my sons Aaron and Brian. You were always a joy to be around and when you girls all grew up you played indoor soccer with me in Rocklin. We all knew you were the best and loved you even more for it. I really wish we had had a chance to say goodbye so that you would know that you really were important in our lives and will always be remembered
with love..................

I first met Amy when she was in 6th grade with my daugher. They met at science camp & Loralyn was so excited to tell me about her new friend. Amy was always fun to be around - even as she struggled with health problems. They played soccer together and Amy had the most amazing throw in! She was always enthusiasic about everything she did. I remember one night when she came over for a slumber party and she sat with me on the front porch talking in the darkening night. She loved life and was a thoughtful caring person. My prayers go out to her family at this difficult time.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
