Brothers,
The ones you go to for help,
For comfort,
For advice.
When you just had a fight with Mom and Dad,
Another girl,
Or your boyfriend.

Brothers,
The ones you go to, to tell them that
You're pregnant,
Getting married,
Or just need a shoulder to cry on.
The ones you look up to,
Share jokes,
And talk to about everything.

Brothers,
They're there for the good times,
Bad,
And everything in between.

My brother,
He helps me with everything.
Now all he needs,
Is me.

David, you were the brother i never had. We grew up together. YOu taught me how to fish and do all the boyish things i do. To me you are not gone, but are looking over us and waiting for us to join you in heaven. I turned eighteen right after you left us and my birthday wasnt the same as all the other years. You werent there to make fun of me or to make big fires at my party at dads. I remember last christmas i got up late and went downstairs to open my presents half asleep and there you were sitting on the sofa. "dont you have a home," i said. "Well Christina kicked me out again so im your new roommate," you said. You told me to stop doing stupid things and that was the last thing you said to me. You were more then a cuzin to me David, you were my best friend and brother. I will never forget your dumb laugh that i love so much, it cheered me up when i was down. I wake up to your picture everyday and fall asleep to it. I know your watching over me and dont worrie ill teach alexis how to fish and hunt like you taught me. I love you so much and miss you so much. I cant wait till the day i see you again. I love you David!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, ""I welcome you.""

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......""My day was not in vain.""
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I am sorry so to hear of this tragedy. Dave was a great guy and wonderful father. He had a great sense of humor and positive outlook on life and could bring a smile to anyone's face with his funny laugh and sense of humor.

I didn't hear of David's death till Sept 11, 10 days after his accident. Dave was one of my favorite people in the entire world. When I went to the shop to casually tell Dave that I was going to bring my wife's car to hm to fix, I was told the horrible news.I will miss him terrably. He hepled me often and always with a smile. This world needs more like him.He was the greatest and I'm so sad as I write this.....

September 13, 2008

Oh Dave, If only we knew that God was going to call your name that day....... We heard the sirens go past the house, the firetrucks left the the station, As always, on the weekends and holidays,
Jimmy and I said "another accident on the mountain". But this time it wasn't on the mountain, and it wasn't someone we didnt know. It was you Dave, when we got the call,we screamed to God that it wasn't you, we prayed and prayed it wasnt you. The firetrucks came back, we heard no medi-vac, in our hearts we knew it was you. Our hearts are broken, it's very hard to breathe. In life we loved you dearly and now that you are gone we think of you every minute. You will always be by our side. Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same; But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again. Until we meet again, Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Sherry

Dave was the father of my grand daughter Alexis. He was a good father who tired the best he could. Im glad we had him here for the 5 years of her life. The sun rose and shined for Alexis when she saw her Daddy and he would take her fishing, which he loved to do. I will always remember Dave's hospitality and kindness to us always and the love he showed to his daughter, and his big smile and gentle voice. I know that God has some weird plan for us all and I dont know or understand why he had to take my precious, little girl's Daddy, but one day we'll figure out this plan. My heart breaks for Alexis and her family. May God bless you all.

I am at a loss of words to say how much we are going to miss David. Many will remember him as a friendly and outgoing individual. We remember him as someone who lived up to the standards of all, and lived each day to the fullest.

His death reminds us that life is short. Sure he is not here with us physically but everytime we meet someone as outgoing as him we will recall his name with fondness.

His physical presence has been taken away from us, but I believe that his memories will live on forever through Alexis, Cindy, LeeAnn, Bobby, Gary, Kristina, and everyone that has ever had the pleasure of having Dave as a part of their lives. Our relationship with him is like that of a mother and a child. Born with a physical connection, which still lives on even after being severed. That bond is everlasting.

I simply wish that he could be here so that we could see his smile and hear his silly laugh. Dave you have no idea how much we are going to miss you. You will forever hold a specail place in our hearts. We Love You! "Party Like A Rockstar"

Cousins are our siblings once removed,
Our relatives without the complications.
Unsatisfying as some friends may prove,
Sweet cousins are the purest of relations.
In cousins there's a friendship of the blood.
No friends can share such natural vibrations,
So long requited, honest, rich, and good.

Our Dear David, nothing can take away the pain that we feel, or wipe the tears that we cry. Words arent enough to explain how much we are going to miss you. It's still so hard to believe that you are gone. We just sit here and remember the last words that you spoke to us before you left us on Monday. "I'll be right back guys" These words just keep playing on and on in our minds. We love you so much David, always remember "Get Er Done, Party Like A Rockstar"

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
