Arpad Molnar Obituary
Born Dec. 13, 1916 in Perth Amboy, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna Yuhaz Molnar and the husband of the late Gloria Martha Lonne Molnar. Mr. Molnar was a 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during World War II and later a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserves. He retired from the New Jersey State Department of Transportation. While in New Jersey, he was very involved in church and township activities and was a former inspector with the New Jersey Boxing Commission. He enjoyed playing bingo, was a devoted Republican and a member of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include three daughters, Debra Nelson of Gainesville, Va., Lonne Bettencourt and her husband, David, of Walnut Grove, and Abbie L. Molnar of Roebuck; a son, Arpad Albert Molnar Jr. and his wife, DeDe, of Blairstown; four grandsons, David, Patrick, Kristofer and Eric; three granddaughters, Katie, Amanda, and Heather; three great-grandsons, Daniel, Andrew, and Carson; and one great-granddaughter, Kayla. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Services will be held in Spartanburg. An online guest register is available at www. floydmortuary.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303, or Upstate Neuter Team, 10901 Reidville Road, Greer, SC 29651.
