Colleen Dishon Obituary
The Tribune says Dishon suffered a stroke at home and died yesterday in Memorial Hospital of South Bend, Indiana.
Dishon began her journalism career while still in high school in Zanesville, Ohio. She also worked at the Dispatch in Columbus, Ohio, and the Milwaukee Journal and Milwaukee Sentinel.
She was hired by the Chicago Tribune in 1975 to retool the paper's Tempo section into a general features section. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Dishon created new sections that are still in the paper, including Woman-News and Kid-News. She retired from the Tribune in 1994.
Dishon is survived by her husband of 54 years, reporter Bob Dishon.

I had the special opportunity to work with Koky on a project in Southern California more than 10 years ago and then to keep in touch with her since.
She was a wonderfully witty and helpful, and I always enjoyed visting with her.
