Fay Potter Obituary

FAY ANN ALDRIN POTTER

Fay Ann Aldrin Potter, 83, of Marin County, Calif., formerly of Montclair, died on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

A private ceremony and the scattering of her ashes will be held at a later date.

Born in Dayton, Ohio, and raised in Montclair, Mrs. Potter graduated from Montclair High School and from Hood College in Frederick, Md., in 1950. She was an active member of the Gamma Delta Phi sorority and president of Alpha Psi Omega, an honorary drama fraternity.

Mrs. Potter married Stanley C. Potter of Woodbridge in 1950. They lived in Levittown, N.Y., moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, from 1952 to 1973, and settled in Marin County, Calif., in 1973.

With a passion for contemporary art, Mrs. Potter was associated with the Carl Solway Gallery of Cincinnati, and the William Sawyer Gallery of San Francisco, Calif. Before retiring, she had a career in real estate and worked with several Marin County agencies, including Scott — McCall & Co., Prudential California, and Laurel Avenue Associates.

Mrs. Potter is survived by her three children, Dana Ross Potter, Tom C. Potter (Lydia), and Holly Potter Martin (Nicholaus); nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; her sister, Madeline Crowell; and her brother, former astronaut Buzz Aldrin, of the Apollo 11 moon landing.
