Frederick Siegenthaler Obituary

RUTHERFORD - Frederick E. Siegenthaler, 59, of Rutherford, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on March 17, 2015.

Mr. Siegenthaler was born in Passaic to the late Frederick Siegenthaler and Caroline Britton. A Rutherford resident, he proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a self-employed painter doing business as "A Touch of Dutch" in Rutherford for 25 years. Mr. Siegenthaler was an active member and Deacon of the Rutherford Bible Chapel and very community-minded. He loved spending time with his family, going on vacation every summer to Virginia Beach, Va. He would spend his off time, every chance he got, fishing, hunting and shouting from the stands while rooting for his son's basketball team at Rutgers Newark.

Mr. Siegenthaler is survived by his wife of 32 years, Donna, and children, Corrie, Shiloh, and Ethan Siegenthaler.

Mr. Siegenthaler is also survived by his nine siblings, Denise Aymar, Linda Pearson, Teresa Larkin, Sandra D'Arrigo, Todd Siegenthaler, Andre Siegenthaler, William Siegenthaler, Pierre Siegenthaler and Barbara Siegenthaler, and will be missed by a multitude of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received in the Rutherford Bible Chapel, 161 W. Passaic Ave., Rutherford, on Thursday, March 19, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral and the celebration of life services will begin Friday, March 20, at 10 a.m., in the chapel followed by interment in Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst.

In lieu of flowers donations in Mr. Siegenthaler's memory may be made to the Rutherford Bible Chapel, 161 W. Passaic Ave., PO Box 5, Rutherford, NJ 07070.

I met Fred in the late 70's and taught him to repair carpet cleaning equipment in NYC.I remember a friendly, giant, skinny guy with wild, everywhere hair, who loved Jesus. A good brother in Christ whom I will miss but will see again in Heaven.

Thank you, Fred, for allowing me and my family into your life in some small way. Your generous spirit has been an inspiration to me and a priceless one to my son, Alek, who might not have become an Eagle Scout without your help.

I will miss you so much -- especially the way you would yell at Rush Limbaugh as you enhanced my home in so many ways. Though we came from different places, religions and upbringings, we shared much. I will relish your friendship always.
