Imogene McClain Obituary

Imogene McClain was born in Oklahoma and entered into peace, surrounded by family, June 13 2010, Roseville California after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Imogene was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. She was married to Marvin McClain for nearly 64 years.
She leaves behind her husband, Marvin; two daughters, Gena (Larry Stahl), Meadow Vista Calif.; Kathie (Steven Wolf) Newcastle Calif.; and a son Michael McClain (Aleta) Phoenix Arizona. She also leaves six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
A woman devoted to family, she enjoyed raising her children with music lessons, little league, and girl scouts. She instilled Christian values and a love of life and family. She continued these traditions with her grandchildren, spending many hours teaching them to cook and to sew, always proudly displaying their work in her home. Imogene enjoyed traveling with her husband, often taking long treks in their 5th Wheel, and was a beautiful and creative artist, making crafts from nearly anything she could find.
Imogene worked for 18 years managing an Appliance Repair business in Roseville for good friends Lavern and Maxine Bartz. More than a business relationship, the families spent much time together camping, taking kids to accordion lessons and accordion performances, and generally being a part of each others lives.
Imogene and Marvin moved to Foresthill nearly 40 years ago where she participated with the Foresthill Kitchen Band, providing entertainment for local events. She loved living in the rural area and enjoyed the beautiful environment, deer and birds. She remained a devoted wife and mother through her final days, always more concerned with how her family was doing than herself
What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us. Gran will live in our hearts forever.
Memorial services will be held Friday, June 18, 2010, 10 a.m., at Chapel of the Hills, 1331 Lincoln Way, Auburn. A private family internment will be held at a later date.
