Nat King Cole died the day after Valentine's Day, in 1965. It was an oddly perfect final note to the life of a man who sang some of the greatest love songs of our time – he held on for one final day in celebration of love, then left us. Indeed, his final album, recorded just months before his death, couldn't be clearer about what the singer loved to celebrate – it was titled L-O-V-E.
