Ernest K. Rabb Jr.

Ernest K. Rabb, Jr. CAMERON, SC - Ernest K. Rabb, Jr., 81 passed away peacefully in his home on November 2, 2010. Ernie was born in Winnsboro, SC and was the son of the late Ernest K. Rabb, Sr. and Ray Timms Rabb. He cared for his wife of 49 years, Catherine Brown Rabb, with tender patience and love, throughout an extended illness until her death. He was predeceased by his sister, Saddie Lee Renwick, of Winnsboro, SC. Ernie served four years in the Air Force during the Korean War. He joined West Virginia Pulp and Paper Company (Mead Westvaco) in 1954 and retired with 36 years of service. Family, who will always cherish so many warm memories of a loving man of quiet faith and humble character are: a daughter, Julie (Edsel) Garrick of Irmo, SC and two sons: Ernie Rabb (Kimberly) of Richmond, VA, and Stuart Rabb (Elizabeth) of Summerville, SC. So precious to him were his 8 grandchildren: Justin and Benjamin Garrick, Madison and Maridee Rabb, and William, Andrew, Grayson, and Avery Rabb. Ernie was a blessing to many friends and his caring visits to those near and far will be forever missed. He was a member of Four Holes Baptist Church and a former member of Cameron Baptist Church. Both provided him rich friendships and fellowship while serving our Lord and Savior. A memorial service will be held 3:30 PM Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Four Holes Baptist Church, 1622 Four Holes Road, Orangeburg, SC 29115. Family will receive friends after the service. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be to Connie Maxwell Children's Home, P.O. Box 1178, Greenwood, SC 29648-1178 Dukes-Harley Funeral Home, 3379 Columbia Rd., Orangeburg, SC 29118 will be serving the family.
