Larry L. Facer Sr.

Larry L. Facer MOYOCK - Larry Louis Facer Sr., 69, died in Chesapeake, May 1, 2010. He was born in State College, Pa., April 19, 1941 to Richard Facer Sr. and Betty Kerstetter Facer. He graduated from State College Area High School in 1959. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy from 1959-1962 and re-enlisted and served as a U.S. Navy Seabee from 1966-1982. Among his many duty stations he served two tours in Vietnam and two tours in Antarctica. He is survived by two sons, Michael Facer and Mark Facer, wife Beate and three stepchildren, William Cahoon, Joseph Cahoon and Joshua Cahoon; four grandchildren, Larry Facer III, Kaitlin Facer, Christina Facer and Alexander Facer. He is also survived by three brothers, Richard Facer Jr., Edward Facer and Ernest Facer and their wives; and nieces and nephews; as well as two former wives, Deborah McNeill and Marsha Facer. He was predeceased by his son, Larry Facer Jr.; his sister, Roberta Farkis and his parents. There will be a memorial service at Moyock United Methodist Church today, May 7, at 2 p.m. officiated by the Rev. Frank Jennings.
