I came into contact with Mr. Barrymore through his performance in an episode of Gunsmoke which was so impressive I stayed with it to end to find out who he was. I was quite surprised and even more impressed which led me to the web. Mr. Barrymoreyou were quite alright. I know you now when I didn't prior. I will be looking for you in reruns. Good job on Gunsmoke. Your daughter 'Drew is no slouch either.

Dear Drew, John Blyth and All the Barrymore Family-I have only seen your Father in three TV shows and one movie, but I was so impressed when I saw him on the Gunsmoke episode "One Killer On Ice" I was immediately struck at how long his hair was for the time the episode was filmed-1964-and the beard! He looked 10 years ahead of his time! However it was really authentic for the time period the series took place in. One review described the episode as "Carnaby Street Meets the Old West"-maybe referring to the "Mod" type outfit John wore in a lot of the scenes. He had the South Carolina accent down so well, and what a charismatic screen presence! I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my Pop five and a half years ago and never will "get over it" Then I lost my two best friends. I wish I could have met your Father-I'm sure he was a "Cool Cat" as you said Drew. I think he looked So Cool in the Kung-Fu episode he was in, with his hair so long and his beard-It was So Cool of you Drew to take care of your Dad Drew-A Really Cool Daughter! I think John was A True "Seeker" My deepest Love and Condolences To All Of You, and Wishing You the Best With Your Soon To Be Baby Girl Drew! I hope Your Pop and My Pop are in Heaven Right Now, In The Presence of The Lord! There is a website I hope You would Go To-lovinggraceministries.org Best of Everything To All of You, [email protected]

When we are born, there is but one play for us. It is written in the stars. We are destined to play it out to the end, the good, the bad and the ugly. RIP J.D.B.JR.

I only saw you in a couple of reruns from 60's T.V.. But man, you made an impression. Natural screen presence, dimension and character - right up there with Dean, Newman, Brando, Redford.
I wish you well on your journey and peace to your loved ones.

To The Family of John Barrymore,
May the God of Comfort continue to help you through the difficult times. Isa. 41:10 has brought me comfort, may it also bring you peace.
Sincerely,
August 30, 2010
To the family: May the comfort from family and friends continue to strengthen you, and may you find comfort in the words found in the Holy Scriptures: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."

For John...
WEEP NOT FOR ME
Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.
Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.
I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.
Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.
Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.
Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.
