CHICAGO (AP) - Wrestling officials say 2006 Greco-Roman World Bronze medalist Lindsey Durlacher has died.
USA Wrestling announced Durlacher's death, saying he died Saturday at his Denver home. Details weren't released. His brother Dave Durlacher, an Illinois high school coach, confirmed the death.
At the 2006 World Championships in China, Lindsey Durlacher won the bronze for the 121-pound weight class. He was a medalist in 2003 and 2007 at the Pan American Championships.
The 36-year-old was one of the most decorated wrestlers in Illinois history.
He won the state wrestling championship for Buffalo Grove High School in 1992, was named to the ASICS All-American First Team and became a two-time All-American at the University of Illinois.
Family members say funeral services will likely be held in the Chicago area where he grew up.
