Steve, I remember way back in the 80's you volunteering to help Linda and me with Junior High Sunday School. We always appreciated your help and loved your heart. Tom, Margarate and family, I am sorry that we were unaware of Steve's death until recently. Believe me when I say that Linda and I understand. We lost our precious son, Joshua back in 2006. I know none of us will ever truly get over such loss, but God and time will make the grief softer. We love you.

Humor is an elusive treat that can lighten the heart and brighten the outlook of ordinary circumstances made extraordinary. Steve Bridges was one of those rare "talents" with a gift we are so grateful he shared with us in an all too short life. Blessings and Love to his spirit and to his family. = Jim Myers, Oklahoma City, OK

I was very sad to learn of Steve's death. We knew Phillip and Steve as little boys in Texas. I just saw the videos of his impersonation of GW and saw what talent he had.

IT IS SAD FOR ANY PARENTS TO LOSE THEIR CHILDREN. A PAIN WHICH NONE OF US SHOULD HAVE TO BARE. STEVE BRIDGES WAS A WONDERFUL TALENTED PERSON. THE LAUGHTER HE BROUGHT TO MANY WILL UNDOUBTEDLY LIVE ON IN ALL THE MEMORIES OF HIS FAMILY, FRIENDS AND FANS . IT IS SO SAD FOR THOSE OF US TO THINK HE WILL NEVER AGAIN PLAY FOR US. NOW HE PLAYS TO A MUCH MORE CARING AND LOVING AUDIENCE. YES HE WILL UNDOUBTEDLY KEEP GOD PLEASED. HOW LUCKY WE WERE TO HAVE HIM. OUR LIVES ARE BETTER FOR IT.

A great man with a great sense of humor .... all of us GW Bush lovers loved Steve because he captured GW so well .... and we know that GW laughed about it so much.
We will defer to GW to tell you how much he and Barbara loved you, but we know that they did.
May God care for your family and always show the love that you showed in your Great Humor.
God Bless you and your Family.

I am so very sad to hear of his death! I am a big GW supporter, so he would understand that I laughed the hardest at his impersonations, as well as I'm sure President GW Bush did! What an unfathomable talent! He brought more laughter to my life than a Monty Python movie, and that is saying ALOT! God Bless him and God Speed his soul, and love and caring to his Family. The world will never be quite so funny without him forcing a GAWFAWWW BELLY LAUGH out of us. So sad am I at his passing and may God hold all of his loved ones in the palm of his hand.
BTW, It is kind of a standard at my work now that people are used to me standing up with my arms over my head and proclaiming "Wooo Hooo! Dick Chaney's tak'in me to Disney World!" when something goes right at work! Okay, most folks don't get it, and start talking about Black Helicopters, but those that DO get it laugh like crazy! God Bless Steve for giving those moments of laughter in Apollo 13 minutes at work in Houston, ("we have a problem!")!

I remember Phillip and Steve as little boys when I was in the High School group at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Concord, CA. Their father, Tom, was the Pastor there and performed my wife's (Lidna) and my wedding in 1976. Margaret, their mother, was my Sunday School teacher for a time. This is a wonderful family, and they are in our prayers for strength, comfort and healing at this time.

I sat next to Steve in Typing class at BCHS...oh what I crush I had on him! He was a sweetheart...and very funny - little did we know then. I knew his family only at a distance through his brother Phil. I had no idea and never knew what an incredible talent he was until I heard the news on NBC. My thoughts and prayers are with all of the Bridges' family.

Steve and I were classmates at Walnut Creek Christian Academy and Berean Christian HS for many years. What a class act! Even when it wasn't cool to be too outspoken about your faith, Steve was a vibrant Christian. I had great respect for him.
There is no doubt in my mind that he is now in heaven as part of the "great cloud of witnesses" (Heb.12:1)...perhaps being entertained by God!

I am one of millions who never had the privilege of meeting Steve but was sure to put the remote down when I saw him performing or being interviewed on TV. From a distance, it appeared people loved being around him because of the pure joy he emanated. May we have that same effect on those we encounter, and may God provide Steve's family and friends with the comfort only He can supply.

My sincere condolences to the Bridges family. Steve had a profound impact on my life as a high school student at EV Free Fullerton. He was a great mentor and cherished friend who will be missed greatly. It was fun to watch his career flourish and, watching him on TV from time to time, always brought back fond memories of the laughs we all had in youth group as a result of his talent. He was taken much too soon for my taste but I rejoice in knowing I will see him again. By then he will probably be able to impersonate the disciples perfectly which will be good for an eternity of laughs!

My deepest sympathy to all of the Bridges family. Steve was a good friend and I was incredibly fortunate to have him in my life when we lived together in college and throughout the years. Steve was always the kind of friend you could tell anything to and leave feeling heard but never judged. I appreciate the honesty with which he lived his life and his willingness to ask the hard questions about life and faith. He was also an incredibly fun (and funny) person to be around and along with changing lives has also given thousands great memories. Thanks for raising such a wonderful son that has had such a positive impact on so many. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Tom and Margaret,
We have such cherished memories of your family and our time at Tabernacle in the late 70's. Especially the youth group gatherings at Derry and Sally's, and a young ernest Steve who went to work with Rick for a day to explore life as a doctor. And, Margaret's wonderful Sunday turkey dinners. Thinking of you during this difficult time, and entrusting you to the God of all Comfort.

Saw him in his earlier days, at Mt Hermon in No Cal in mid 90s...his talents and joyfulness in making people laugh were evident. Enjoyed meeting him, getting to know him, over those two summers with IFL family camp - always wondered why the seminary vs comedy...he'd have made an excellent pastor-type with his incredible gifts of humor and kindness. I think of his talents often in my counseling ministry, as I to try to help people laugh to ease their pain. I'd say 'thanks' for the memories, wish they'd have continued. Knowing he is in glory with God - delighting all with his Moses impressions.
May God's immense heart of comfort and love embrace all those grieving his loss...while looking forward to reuniting someday.
