Oh my, I accidentally came across this obituary while looking for the obituary of a friend of mine's son named Connor Moore. After reading you tragedy, I couldn't just move on with out saying some thing. I am a stranger, but my mother's heart aches for you. I am so sorry for your loss. I recently read a book called Into the Deep, by Robert Rogers. His story is so similar to yours. He lost all 4 of his children and his wife is a similar situation in which flood water stalled their van and then swept them away when they attempted to escape their van. His book may bring you comfort as he would understand your pain and loss. May God give you comfort and peace as your draw near to Him for strength.

…because time and unexpected events overtake them all. For man does not know his time. Just as fish are caught in an evil net and birds are caught in a trap, so the sons of men are ensnared in a time of disaster, when it suddenly overtakes them (Eccl. 9:11,12). Our families and yours must continue to rely on God in these tragic times. We continue to pray for the lost of you and yours.

Dear Damian & Glenda,
As we are reaching the anniversary of the storm and the loss of your sons I find myself thinking of you both and hoping you have found some peace. As a mother myself I have a hard time imagining how you find the strength to continue after such a tragedy. We live on Father Capodanno, just houses from where you lost your boys and I often wish we were home at the time of the storm to show you the compassion you needed and deserved at the time. I will continue to think about you both and hope for your continued healing.

I am so sorry for the loss of your children, Connor and Brandon. Even though time passes, each person grieves in their own way. Always remember God loves everyone, even our love ones who are no longer with us. May God continued to give you both comfort and strength each day. And that of love and support by family and friends. I will pray for you both and remember your precious children.

God's holy spirit can equip you with "power beyond what is normal" (2 Corinthians 4:7) to go one from one day to the next. Divine help doesnt elimanate the pain, but it can make it easier to bear. But you can recover! What you have experienced can make you more understanding and ympathtic in helping others to cope with a similar loss. Never underestimate the power of prayer.

You did everything you could to keep your sons from harm. Then, a freakish act of nature took them from you. Such unbearable loss. I wish I could take away your pain. Perhaps, in time, you will again bring new lives into this world. Not to replace your beloved sons, but because life somehow goes on even in the face of senseless tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are for your recovery with renewed faith in the future.

SWEPT AWAY
I am standing drenched in time
where the water used to be, I can still see faded chalk lines
On the streets where you were free
Send my heart down river, lay my mind green over stone
Raise my hands high and deliver, trade my eyes for another home
And I am not afraid to die
Just another way to fly
Just another chance to dance my way
Into another life
And I am not afraid to go
In this boat that's full of holes
I will row the other shore
And I will wait at heaven's door.
I am standing drenched in stillness where the water set you free
I can still see faded chalk lines on these streets you used to be
Send my children down river
May it one day lead them home
Stick and stone my bones into forgiveness
Then lay the memories at the throne
And I am not afraid to die
Just another way to fly
Just another chance to dance my way
Into another life
And I am not afraid to go
In this boat that's full of holes
I will row the other shore and I will wait at heavens door
