Ruby Toft Obituary
Ruby D. Toft, 96 years, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away Thursday, (October 25, 2012) at Ministry-Door County Medical Center shortly after being admitted to the Emergency Room following a fall.
She was born February 12, 1916 in Sturgeon Bay the daughter of the late Otto and Ella (Henschel) Voeks. After graduating from Sturgeon Bay High School she received her degree in music from the Music Conservatory at Lawrence University and taught high school music at Seymour, Wisconsin and Chisholm, Minnesota. She married Thorval T. Toft in Baileys Harbor. He preceded her in death on February 3, 2005.
Ruby was one of the original founders of the Door County Weaver's Guild and Garden Club. She served as a state judge for flower shows. She was active in Cherry Hills and Alpine golf leagues as well as Door County library quilters.
Ruby will be dearly missed by her daughter Trudy (Mark Dupuy) Toft; granddaughters, Cory (Josh Moser) Toft-Dupuy, Tucker Toft-Dupuy, Bay Toft-Dupuy, Laura Toft Graan; and daughter-in-law, Alice Barnes; close family relatives, Libby Graan Sinz and Jon Graan.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Otto and Ella Voeks; husband, Thorval T. Toft; son, Thomas W. Toft; two brothers, Orville (Girlie) Voeks, Elton (LaVerne) Voeks; one sister, Mildred (Alden) Brabazon.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday (November 24, 2012) at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Juddville with Rev. Michael Brecke officiating. Burial will be at Baileys Harbor Town Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church from 10:00 until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday (November 24, 2012).
Memorials may be made in Ruby's memory to Björklunden, Lawrence University.
Ruby's family would like to extend a special thanks to her wonderful friends and home caregivers, Doreen Kiken and Ann Tanck. Special thanks to all the staff at Pine Crest, especially Chris Parent and Amber Papke who went above and beyond to make her last home special.

Bonnie and I wish we could have attended the memorial service for your mother Ruby on November 24th. It was nice you waited until your entire family could be there. We know your girls were blessed to have her in their lives and they will always have fond memories of her.
