YVONNE MARTINE FORMERLY OF VALPARAISO, IN
On Saturday, September 27, 2008, Yvonne Martine, 85, formerly of Valparaiso, Indiana, passed away in Hartford, Kentucky after a long struggle with illness. Yvonne was born on March 31, 1923, in Gary, Indiana, to the late Charles Cornelius Jagger and Marcelle Kirche. She was a loving wife and mother, a professional singer and recording artist, and a stage actress in the Chicago and Northwest Indiana region. She worked in film as a casting director, hosted several public television programs, and worked in Chicago radio as a talk-show host. She owned several modeling and finishing schools in Northwest Indiana during her career, and was an internationally published author. Until she moved to Kentucky, Yvonne was a member of Valparaiso Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons: Dean West (Gail) of Hartford, Kentucky, James L. Parkey of Michigan City, Indiana and Brett Kolarik of Valparaiso, Indiana; three grandsons: Dean C. West, Eric E. West and Christian West; and four great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will held in Valparaiso, Indiana at a later date.

I took classes at her finishing school in Valpo. Still remember a lot of the lessons she taught me, and I think of her often.

I miss you so much, Mom, we all do! I will always love you and honor your precious and holy memory. I pray you are happy, healthy, and greatly loved, wherever you are. I look forward to seeing you again, and I will forever bless you, and God, for giving this poor soul such a beautiful, loving, and wonderful Mother. May God be forever with you, my dear sweet momma! I love you!!!
