BRISCOE, Douglas Allenby. (Doug) Sadly, we have to advise family and friends that Douglas (Doug) Allenby Briscoe passed away on the 20th of September 2023, just six weeks short of his 102nd birthday. Doug was the adored husband of the late Margaret, and beloved father and father-in- law of Helen and Raymond, Brian and Jill, and Colin and Lynn. He was a wonderful Grampie to Sean, Carla, Robbie, Sara, Jarrod and Lloyd, and great- grandfather to Caitlin, Liam, Jacob, Zachary, Imogen, Holly and Anna. He will be greatly missed. We sincerely thank his doctor, Dr Anshu Sharma of the Epsom Medical Centre, together with the medical staff of Ward 14, Auckland Hospital, not only for the care and attention paid to Doug, but also for the support given to the family during his time in their care. A service to remember Douglas Briscoe will be held at Eden Community Church 72-74 View Road, Mt Eden, Auckland on Thursday 28th September at 2:00pm. We are unable to attend Doug's funeral today. Please accept our sympathy for for passing on of your father and grandfather. He was a very good friend of my parents, Doug and Beryl Stevenson way back in Greerton years when both families attended Greerton Chapel. I remember Doug as a warm, kind and lovely man. He kindly drove our wedding car in 1951. Many years have passed since then, and I have only seen him a few times. He was always warm, and friendly and interested in our life. A truly good man.
