Jan and I first met in Epsom ,62 years ago when we lived opposite each other.She was boarding with a Mrs Harrison and we became very good friends,being of similar age. After I
moved away and married, we still kept in touch over the years and she often visited me and my family where ever we were living.The last time she came to see us was about,12 years ago ,here in Havelock North, whilst staying with a friend Patricia Iverson in Hastings.After my husband passed away,three and a half years ago,we phoned each other weekly .She loved her skiing and regreted not being well enough to go this season.The Square Dancing Club members will also miss her as she was so well known here in New Zealand and Australia for the Competitions that she went to ,either to watch or enter with her Timaru Club.We both loved our gardening and animals and shared so many memorable stories of her travels.
Although I can only vaguely remember meeting her parents once,visiting Jan in Epsom ,it was nice that I was able to.
She was so happy to have made her 80th birthday and share it with her Brothers and their families last December.My special Condolences to you all and I am glad that I was still a friend to Jan for all these years.
Please accept my apologies for not being amongst you,to remember Jan,I won`t forget her and will miss our phone calls!.
