GODDARD, Peter Richard Harold. Passed away peacefully on Monday August 28th 2017 at Mountain View Rest Home, Kawerau, Bay of Plenty; aged 86. Devoted and adoring husband to Barbara (deceased), beloved and caring dad to Marian and inspirational father figure to Jon. So much love for everyone and such a joy of life, Peter will live on in the memories of his ?"step?" family and friends in Melbourne, remaining brother (Charlie ? UK), niece Gail (and family ? Perth) and his huge Taupo ?"family?" headed by Graham and Chrissie. A fiercely loyal friend to the Whakatane RSA, to his much loved home of Matata and in particular to the ?"Thirsty Thursday?" crew whose company he cherished. Peter will be missed by all who knew him, but he's where he wants to be, casting a line in some heavenly stream with his darling Barb. A service for Peter will be held in the chapel of Willetts Funeral Services Ltd, 21 King Street, Whakatane on Friday 1st September at 11am followed by a private cremation. No flowers please, rather a donation to Hospice Bay of Plenty via www.hospice.org.nz/get-involved/make-a-donation or maybe left at the service.
