BARTRUFF, Mr. Lawrence Dewey, 82, of Sandston, Va., went to be with his Lord the morning of Sunday, January 27, 2013. He is survived by his devoted wife of 18 years, Betty M. Bartruff. Larry served his country in the United States Navy for 25 years as an ADR1 Aviation Machinist Mate. He was a Korean and Vietnam veteran, serving two tours in the Vietnam War. He retired from the Navy January 1, 1978. Larry was also a retiree of Preston Trucking Company. Viewing will be held at Harvest Baptist Church on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 1 to 2 p.m. with service at 2 p.m., with Pastor Alan Cousins officiating. Interment to follow in Washington Memorial Park with United States Navy Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harvest Baptist Church, 5561 Meadow Rd., Sandston, Va. 23150.

You and Betty have been the sweetest neighbors anyone could ever ask for. I am so sorry for the family's loss.

I have known Larry for the past 4yrs. going to his and Betty's house to groom Chloe and Toby. He was always special and kind and I will miss him. I hope he has lots of crossword puzzles in heaven....My Love, Thoughts and Prayer's go out to all of his family and his memory will live on forever in out hearts.
